In his power to seek his own interest instead of the good of England, Charles I was accused of treason against England. On 6 January, an act of the Commons gathered in the House reaffirmed the decision to bring the King to the tribunal by a majority of 29-26. I don’t think this will be called treason. Parliamentarians were led by Oliver Cromwell, who gained a significant victory in Marston Moor in 1644 and in Naseby in 1645 in his powerful Ironsides' Force. Cromwell helped repel the realist invasion of Scotland as a New Model Army leader in the Second English Civil War, although Charles gave up to the Scottish army in 1646.
